I had been travelling for days when I finally came upon this lovely land. The Spirits of Water were telling me how to get here. The name of the place in which I stood now was known as Amethyst. I wished to claim her as my home. I did need a place to rest, a place that I could settle into. Someplace that will help me to forget my past. I shook my dusty black head as my chocolate eyes looked about at Amethyst.
The music of the water around me helped to soothe my racing nerves. The air currents flitted past me, and I felt Luna's prescence. She did say she would always be with me no matter what. I smiled as I looked into the sky. Rising onto my hind legs I parted my lips and let my deep voice escape from deep within me. "I am known as Valthonis, 'The Exile'! I have come home and wish to claim Amethyst as my own!" Then I let myself come back to the ground and rested a hind dagger in the grass. I felt safe here.
I let my eyes drift shut, but don't make the mistake that I was asleep. I was just listening with my heart to the land around me. The stream sang softly and a smile never faded from my lips. I was home at last, at least it felt like home. The only thing that was missing was my mother's prescence and Lunitari's. But everything else was just what I needed. I opened my eyes and made my way to the stream. I dipped my head and gently touched my muzzle to the surface and whispered. Mother, I will make you proud." Her face shimmered and she was gone and I looked up and about Amethyst again. I was home.
