So you think you know how this goes yeah? been travelling for miles, seen many places, learnt plenty of things. Think you're the smart one in this big old game of cat and mouse we call life do you? well i'm sorry, we can't all live fantasies. no, change is in the air, the heavens are opening to reveal a new path for you to take. The spirits are coming alive again. Awakening from their endless slumber. The spell laid upon them from the day the first equine settlers arrived has been broken. Those both good and bad are discovering powers they never knew existed before the turning of the earth. The elements are choosing their masters. Perhaps now those who reside here will want to learn the history of the land. Rather than just tales, twisted and changed throughout time. It's not much, but this is the best recollection you will get..

OOC://Yeah yeah I know, long as all heck. (to the standards here) But you know, I had to have a great starter post here. // Inspiration - You can let go now - Crystal Shawanda
Standing on a field blanketed in flowers in green, Storm found himself in one of his nearly depressed moods. Were the wind whispered through the grass in a comforting gale, trying to calm its liege. But it was a failed effort. How could the wind sooth his spirits, when they were wandering far beyond his life to those of the past. Racing across the lands, his hooves thundered against the hard packed earth.
The wind whistled against his face as if trying to wipe away his memories. But how could it? When his memories haunted his dreams since the day both of his parents died. No, not in battle against foreign horses, but against each other. Fire and wind, battling over jealousy and rage. What had caused it? Him. His mother, a being of wind, bold and strong yet gentle as a summer's breeze. While his father, of fire, Strong but ridden by his emotions. Not an evil tyrant but a great father. Both elements within him should have obliterated his body and soul. Burned it up like a furnace fed by the wind. But it didn't, the wind had finally choked out the fire within him and as a result, left him as a wind elemental.
The only problem, his father wanted him to carry on the fire trait. Since he could not, he was enraged. Banishment for the wrong reasons was to ensue Storm's life. But his mother opposed. Angered by his father's recklessness, she fought him. Just as the elements within him, they battled, his mother drawing the air from his father's lungs, but his father revolted by lashing out in a torrent of flames. It consumed them both. The end result was an ashen form of his mother in high detail, and the suffocated form of his father. The dying screams of his mother, the struggling gasps of his father... Then to top it off, he had touched what had once been his mother's flesh, only to have it give way to charred bone.
Now how could the wind expect him to forget? To forget these painful things when they haunted him day and night, no matter how he steeled himself from the outer world. His only focus was to enhance his powers and consume himself in the everyday task of his herd. But the problem stood stalk still, teasing him and taunting his eyes. He had one member to his herd. One member to steal away his nightmares so he could concentrate on more pressing matters. If it were possible. Hawk had not exactly been the most active herd member, but then, neither was he to tell the truth. Caught in the grasp of mourning and choking by its hold. It seemed that his banishment, the fight before his very eyes, the stress of things he longed not to think of... That had chased him since the dawn of his realization... Had finally caught up to him, grabbing him by the flanks and tearing him down.
"Let go dear steed, we needs you to let it all go..." the wind whispered in his ears. It was a strange thing the wind, never referring to its self as one, but many. Perhaps what he controlled was the spirits of the land... or perhaps his own spirit was projected upon the open plain, whistling upon it like his own subconsciousness. How could it make sense to control something that was not supposed to be there? He did not know, nor did he have the time to think further upon the matter that had been egging his waking mind since he began to try and control the strange force.
For once he did not answer the wind, but slipped into himself, allowing his body to do as it wished, to become truly wild. As he concealed himself within, his lungs swelled and a sharp bay split through the air, his eyes becoming that of the insane. Then he pushed out, or rather his body did, picking up speed as his gallop increased. Tossing his head and lunging, he found himself dancing with the wind, racing with its gales and drafts, and seeking the utmost release of his own body. Pushing it to the limits as he never did when he was in full control. When his chest was heaving and his lungs were struggling to catch up with his heart, aching like never before, he gave in. As his hooves clattered against the ground, his legs buckled and he collapsed. Regaining reign on his body, he pulled his head then stretched it. With heavy droughts of air, he took the pain as a release.
Even when his muscles were screaming from the lack of oxygen, he clung to it like a lifeline. Daring his body to stop its own pains... In which it replied by moving to a dull ache. Ebbing at his consciousness and sparking stars in his vision. But he did not care. Not when it took his mind off of bad memories, hell beyond horrible memories. Closing his sunburst eyes, he concentrated upon his breathing, all the while deepening his outermost thoughts to his plans for the herd.

I'd wandered for quite a while. But finally it seemed my wanderings had brought me to a place that was rather welcoming it seemed. My black and white pillars carried my lithe bodice deeper into this place. The spirits of the air told me I was trespassing on a stallion's lands. Probably not the smartest thing for a distrusting mare like myself to do, but still, the place was welcoming enough. I slowed my pace from the run into a walk. The air currets twisting and wrapping around me as I moved on.
Maybe my prescence would go unnoticed. I highly doubted it though. I was in an Air stallion's lands and I knew that the air would tell him I was here. Oh well. I had to get over it sooner or later. Shaking my crown a little. I whispered to the wind. "Please let the lead know I am here." The wind touched my side as it drifted away. Then I let myself come to a halt and rested a hoof on the ground. I was standing near to a stream and the spirits whispered to the air spirits who sent the message to me. "M'lady, 'The Exile' has made himself a claim to a land known as Amethyst. He wanted you to know." I smiled a little.
"Thank you for the message. Please send my thanks to him and tell him I shall visit when I settle in." I told the air spirits who relayed the message to those that lived in the water who carried the words to Valthonis. That stallion was the only true friend and ally I had ever had. And now we were both here in these lands and soon, we would meet again. But first i wanted to settle down to rest find myself a home. Maybe this would be it, maybe not, who knew. I waited patiently for a message or appearence from the lead.

A calling, a beckoning... A spirit that encouraged the reawakening of his mind. Shakily, he pulled himself to his hooves, allowing the message to ring in his ears.
"She calls to you Steed of Air, stallion of Veltra. Go to her, run with us as we guide you once more." The wind called, teasing him forth to the unknown. One thing was for sure, the mare was definitely of air, because not a moment after the wind told him that she was there, an announcement told him so. However he did not respond, he just ran.
It did not take long before each hoof beat became a pound against an iron kettle and a pain that racked his body. His breathing hitched and he almost spilled forward. The run he had displayed earlier had ended him on the opposite side of his lands as the mare and more exhausted than normal. Grunting through the strain, it took him a while longer before he actually managed to reach the mare than it would have if he was rested.
Slowing down, he gradually pulled himself to an unstable halt before the female. Gold streaked eyes took swift inventory before he bowed low to her. Right hoof extended, left reaching up to tap his stomach. The Lipizzaner male rose from the bow and stood shakily before her. "Forgive me if I appear shaky dear mare of air. It is simply from the strain of running hard quite a bit today. I am Life Before The Storm, Storm for short. But please tell me, who may you be?" he asked, his voice only the slightest bit airy from his run. But as he silenced himself in wait for her answer, he took the moment to fully catch his breath.
The air whistled around him, battering his muscles in hope of providing some relief from his strained muscles. Unfortunately it made the pain worse, after all he had to hold himself up against the beating. Reaching into his core, he grasped the light wisp of a feather held within a loose ball and pushed out with his power. The wind seemed to calm immediately. Happy that the wind had gotten his non-verbal message, he pulled his power back within himself. The resounding effect was skin tingling, and soothing. As if his power had pulled a bit of gravities' weight off of him. If not for a second.

My auds picked up the distant sound of hooves thundering my way. The Lead was on his way to answer my call. I stood poised and proud and still yet so shy of the impending meeting of the stallion. The thundering grew ever closer and then his form came into sight. He was very handsome. His bloodlines of an ancient Spanish breed. As he came to a halt and dipped himself in greeting for me, I returned his greeting with my own as I stepped back a little from him as his words drifted into my auds.
Forgive me if I appear shaky dear mare of air. It is simply from the strain of running hard quite a bit today. I am Life Before The Storm, Storm for short. But please tell me, who may you be? Storm. A powerful name that one was. Taking a breath and letting the air currents soothe me for a respectable time period, I answered him with my own voice, my appaloosa pelt shifted in the sunlight as I let my midnight kissers part. "Well met Storm. I am known as Lunitari. I have just come here to Datholon and was looking for a home. I would have stayed with my travelling companion Valthonis, but he is of the Water." I told him then fell silent.

When she spoke it was music to his ears, but her the notes that tinted her voice caused worry. Had she left her travel companion because of his gift, or because she was destined for different lands? A quizzical look crossed his face before he decided to answer.
"Lunitari, beautiful name. But do tell me, did you split up because of your gifts? I am not big on stallions but I could just as easily make an exception as long as he followed the rules." He spoke, allowing a hint of concern to poke its way through. Then another thought came to mind. "On another thought, please tell me if you mind, but would you care if I called you Luna?"
But as he questioned the mare, he took a deep breath before folding his legs up under him and laying upon the field of lush grasses of spring. Reaching out, he nipped the grass short and began the rhythmic never ending process of chewing. Turning his head from the beautiful appaloosa, he stared out along the endless plains.
They needed improvement, something to protect them better. Then again he was used to a stone fortress. His old lands was at the top of a mountain. Riddled with maze like caves and monstrous waterfalls that rained down into streams, connecting in the center of the large hallowed out center. In between streams, or rather, Rivers, was lush green grass. When he left his lands for a while and returned he found the perfectly balanced lands demolished. Ehcriale, was now the land of stone. This is what he was left with.
A land that offered no protection from outside herds, and no Balance with the elements. So he had a mission, to improve it. Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, four much needed elements. So far, all he had was Wind/Air. No caves to dwell in, no great bodies of water, and no clearings as slick as glass. That last proclamation might make others quizzical, but you have to think that in times of defense, all elements would offer complete protection.
Following are the rules of Datholon. Please read them, it will only take up 10 minutes of your precious life. If your not going to read at least some of them then dont blame us when you get things wrong.
General ;;
i'm the admin, i'm the special one, i get the first, middle and last say about things around here.
you may have a maximum of 4 characters.
you may advertise your site ONLY in the advertising board.
all members are to obey the staff and leaders or i will personally eat you.
Mares ;;
if you are claimed by a stallion you may go with them or you may choose to fight them.
mares may not rebel against their lead. if they do so the lead may choose to banish them from that particular herd.
mares MUST be three years old in order to have a foal.
you can try to fight a stallion for freedom. but i guarantee, you'll lose.
Mares can live in any land relivant to their alliance as long as the land is unclaimed or the herd leader accepts you.
If a stallion comes to claim the unclaimed land you are living in you will either be asked to leave or you can ask to stay.
Stallions ;;
stallions may force breed but please don't go overboard and rape every single mare that walks by you.
in order to maintain your terra you must be active. if you are gone for over a month your terra will be identified as unclaimed and you will have to reclaim it again if you wish to remain the lead of your terra.
you may fight other stallions for mares, lands ect.
You may claim as many mares as you want, the stallion with the most mares will be the best stallion.
Breeding ;;
Graphic breeding is not allowed. it is against the proboards terms of service. If you wish to breed graphic then use pm's. Just do a sort of, fade in, fade out thing.
Admins and staff are the only members who may decide the status of your foal. when it is born you have no say in whether it is male or female, black or white.
you must post at least three times before your foal can be born.
Posting ;;
i have no set length minimum for your posts, but if i see stupid posts with only one word on it then a rule will be put up. once again guys, dont abuse the privelage.
charries ;;
okay, beofre you go makin heaps of charries, the same rules apply as anywhere else. 4 charries per account.
When you join first you must read these rules then go to the status board. There you will create a thread in your charries' name. This is where you will post the name, age, colour. breed ect ect of your horse. You may include as many pics as you want no matter how big they are (as long as they dont stuff up the boards that is.) If you are the herd leader you may also include the status of your herd if you want.
Challenging ;;
• There will be four posts for each person:
1 Starting post, stating you are ready to fight.
3 Battling posts (The first person to state the starting post will attack first).
• There must be at least two judges. The administrators could be the judge, or the leaders of the herd (this happens only when mares are fighting - not when the lead stallion is fighting). They will have a conference with each other over PMs to decide who won.
• The winner will be decided by whoever has the best posts. That includes:
- Long detailed posts
- Few errors in spelling/grammar/etc.
- Creativity
• When the opponent tries to hit you (say if you were in a fight), then you must at least get hit once out of all attacks in the battle post. It is not logical to miss ALL attacks.
• When posting attack posts, please limit your number of "attempted" attacks to around four attacks.
• If a person posted in the 'Away' area, they you CAN NOT win by default until they are said to have been back.
You can, however, win by default if the person should be back and does not reply to your battle request in a period of. Message me or Avi and we will declare if you win by default or you have to wait a bit longer. If the person comes back, then the battle is still on.

When you create your bio you must include what element you are of. [or if you dont want to have an element at all]
Elements do not mean that you can turn into fire, but you can get very hot. Say you were of the wind element, you can hear what the spirits of the wind say, they can guide you, punnish you, aid or hurt you. The spirits may possess you at times to do their bidding.
The element represents your mood at times. You choose how.
You may only be of one element at a time. Pm me about changing.
